Senior Control Systems Engineer City of Brisbane, Australia (optional office in Melbourne) Position: Senior Control Systems Engineer Salary: AUD 100,*********,000 Responsibilities Apply expertise across thermal and renewable power generation projects, including gas turbines (OCGT/CCGT), coal‐fired and hydro power stations. Design and deliver control and instrumentation systems (PLC, DCS), functional safety systems, and EEHA‐compliant designs. Develop control and protection system communications using industrial protocols (Modbus, DNP3, Ethernet/IP, OPC) and IEC networks. Collaborate with electrical engineers on secondary systems such as protection and excitation systems. Perform electrical engineering analysis and ensure compliance with Australian Standards and relevant legislation. Review and verify engineering drawings, reports, and technical documentation. Support project planning, cost and schedule management, and risk mitigation. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical development within the team. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent. Chartered status (CPEng) and registration (R???) or working towards. Proven experience in thermal and renewable generation projects, ideally in an engineering consulting environment (circa 6+ years' project experience). Robust understanding of safety in design, risk management, and QA/OHS systems. Skilled in technical reporting, stakeholder engagement, and mentoring.
