About The Team The Child Development Service teams provide a family‑centred, specialist public health service for children who have complex developmental and behavioural concerns. The teams provide multidisciplinary clinical services and consultancy/advice to support a comprehensive understanding of the child's developmental profile and how this relates to theirfunctioning and participation in everyday life. Teams use a strengths‑based, partnership approach to enable families, key stakeholders and community providers to best support the child's optimal development, health and wellbeing across the life course.
Teams also contribute to education and training, advocacy and development of professional competence and standards in the field of developmental paediatrics. Teams include a variety of health professionals including medical, allied health and nursing, along with administrative officer personnel. Teams provide clinical services at the Queensland Children's Hospital quaternary service and community services across thirteen sites clustered in Central, North and South locations. CDS Central provides services at Inala, Keperra, Coorparoo and Redlands.
About The Role The position of Senior Medical Officer will provide high level specialist Developmental paediatric services within a tertiary / community setting to ensure the provision of high quality, safe and family centred care within CHQ HHS and for designated outreach when required.
