About the Organisation A large Queensland Government department is seeking an experienced Senior Consultant– Injury Management to join its People, Capability and Culture team within Corporate Services. The department delivers a range of critical justice services to support a fair, safe and inclusive community.
About the Role Reporting to the Principal Consultant, Injury Management, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality injury and illness management services. Working closely with the broader Health, Safety and Wellbeing team, you will support managers and employees to achieve safe and timely return to work outcomes. This is a hands‑on role with no direct reports.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage complex injury and illness case management, ensuring compliance with relevant workers’ compensation legislation
Develop and coordinate effective return to work and reasonable adjustment strategies
Liaise with key external stakeholders including insurers, medical practitioners and rehabilitation providers
Support claim management processes, including common law matters where required
Review and update policies, procedures and intranet content related to injury management
Contribute to projects and initiatives aimed at improving injury management outcomes and service delivery
About You
Strong experience in injury and illness management within a complex organisation
Ability to analyse complex issues and deliver practical, evidence‑based solutions
Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and manage challenging situations
Sound knowledge of workers’ compensation legislation and best practice injury management frameworks
High level communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to a variety of audiences
Self‑motivated with a strong sense of accountability and professionalism
Qualifications Tertiary qualifications in allied health, workplace health and safety, or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
