- Brisbane Lawyer – Property, Litigation, Projects & Corporate Advisory Central Apartment Group (CAG) is a national accommodation, property management and development group, operating serviced apartments, management rights businesses and associated property interests across Australia. We are seeking a motivated and commercially minded Lawyer (approximately 3+ years PAE) to join our team in a diverse in-house role offering significant exposure across litigation, property, developments, body corporate matters and commercial advisory. This is an outstanding chance for a lawyer looking to broaden their experience in a hands‑on role with genuine autonomy, variety and career development. About the Role Reporting to senior management, you will provide practical legal support across a broad range of matters, including: Key Responsibilities Managing and assisting with litigation and dispute resolution matters, including:
- Debt recovery
- Employment‑related matters
- Property and tenancy disputes
- General commercial litigation
- Construction and defects disputes
- Representing or assisting with representation in QCAT and other relevant courts and tribunals Property, Leasing & Body Corporate Drafting, reviewing and negotiating:
- Commercial and retail leases
- Management agreements
- Caretaking and letting agreements
- Licence agreements
- Contractor and service agreements
- Deeds, settlements and related documentation Advising on body corporate / owners corporation matters, including:
- Governance and compliance issues
- By‑law enforcement
- Committee and lot owner disputes
- Building management and caretaking matters Supporting lease management across the Group portfolio, including renewals, variations, compliance monitoring and dispute prevention. Projects & Development Assisting with legal aspects of property development and project delivery, including:
- Site acquisitions and disposals
- Development agreements and joint venture documentation
- Consultant and contractor agreements
- Construction contracts and procurement documentation
- Planning and approval support
- Risk management relating to development projects Supporting Central Development Corporation and associated development activities, including modular or emerging project opportunities. Assisting with project structuring, transaction support and legal oversight from acquisition through to delivery. Corporate Advisory & Commercial Advising on risk management, corporate governance and regulatory compliance. Supporting acquisitions involving management rights, hotels and property assets. Assisting with employment and workplace matters, including contracts, policies and Fair Work‑related issues. Preparing legal correspondence, notices, strategic position papers and internal precedent documents. Liaising with external solicitors, barristers, consultants, regulators and government authorities where required. Contributing to legal systems, compliance frameworks and continuous improvement initiatives across the Group. About You You will ideally have:
- Approximately 3+ years post admission experience (private practice or in‑house)
- Experience in litigation and dispute resolution
- Exposure to property, commercial or development law
- Interest in projects and development work
- Knowledge of body corporate / owners corporation matters (desirable)
- Experience appearing in QCAT or similar tribunals (desirable)
- Strong drafting, negotiation and analytical skills
- Commercial acumen and pragmatic problem‑solving ability
- Ability to manage diverse matters with autonomy while working collaboratively Highly Regarded Experience Experience or interest in any of the following would be advantageous:
- Property development and planning law
- Management rights or strata/community titles
- Corporate structuring and asset protection
- Hospitality, accommodation or real estate sectors
