Ao7 Financial Accounting Lead (Brisbane)

Six Degrees is partnering with a QLD Government organisation recruiting an AO7 Financial Accounting Lead position on an initial 4 month contract basis. Position Title: Accounting Lead Classification: AO7 Hourly rate: $*****
- $***** per hour + Super ****** hours per week, PAYG) Duration: Four (4) months, to end of August Start date: As soon as possible Location: Brisbane – Northgate Role Overview This role will support key financial activities, including end‑of‑year reconciliations, accruals, EoFY adjustments, financial audits and the preparation of financial statements and board papers. The role also involves budget management support and general financial analysis, such as lease cost-benefit analysis. Key Responsibilities
- End‑of‑year reconciliations and workpapers, including KMP remuneration
- End‑of‑year activities, including but not limited to preparation of accruals and EoFY adjustment entries
- Assistance with financial audit requirements
- Assistance with preparation of annual financial statements, cashflow workings and other related tasks
- Drafting board papers for submission
- Assistance with budget management, including budget advice letters
- General financial analysis, including lease cost benefit analysis
- Any other tasks as directed by Manager What We Are Looking For
- Demonstrated experience with end‑to‑end EoFY processes
- Ability to analyse sources of information from multiple perspectives and identify potential broader implications
- Proven knowledge of financial legislation and standards, especially pertaining to financial administration and accounting
- Proficiency with cutting‑edge planning, budgeting and forecasting tools Mandatory Requirements
