About the role We have exciting opportunities to commence or recommence a Cabinet Making Apprenticeship with Action Trades & Apprenticeships in Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich and Gold Coast QLD. As a Cabinet Making Apprentice, you will learn the essential skills and techniques required to design, construct and install a variety of custom cabinets, furniture and joinery. You will receive hands‑on training and mentorship from experienced tradespeople, as well as the opportunity to attend vocational education classes to gain a formal qualification. What you’ll be doing
- Interpreting design specifications and technical drawings to produce custom cabinet and joinery items
- Using hand and power tools to cut, shape, assemble and finish wood and other materials
- Installing cabinets, shelving and other joinery in residential and commercial settings
- Maintaining a safe and organised work environment
- Attending off‑the‑job training to develop theoretical and practical skills
- Assisting experienced tradespeople and learning from their expertise What we’re looking for
- Strong interest and aptitude for working with your hands and creating tangible products
- Valuable practical skills, attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions
- Commitment to completing a 4‑year Cabinet Making Apprenticeship program
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills on the job and in the classroom
- Good communication and problem‑solving skills
