- Demonstrated experience as a BI Developer, Data Modeller, Data Analyst, or Data Engineer on large-scale Data & Analytics platforms
- Proven ability to operate within complex ICT programs and government environments
- Strong knowledge of conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling principles
- Experience using Microsoft technologies including SQL Server Management Studio, Visual Studio, and advanced SQL
- Strong expertise in SSIS, SSAS (tabular and multidimensional), DAX and MDX
- Solid understanding of data warehouse architecture, database design, and ETL patterns
- Highly developed skills in analysing unstructured or semi-structured data and transforming it into relational tables
- Demonstrated ability to implement robust data testing and QA processes
- Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, complex environment
- Excellent communication, collaboration, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills About the Role We are seeking an experienced Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to join a State Government program responsible for delivering high‑quality data, reporting, and performance insights. This role will support the ongoing development, enhancement, and maintenance of data warehouse and reporting products, ensuring that accurate and timely information is accessible to stakeholders. You will play a key role in shaping and supporting the continued expansion of the organisation's BI capabilities, building on the momentum of recent achievements. Key Responsibilities
- Consult with business stakeholders and technical team members to understand requirements and design fit‑for‑purpose data models
- Conduct data model design activities with solid knowledge of data warehouse and ETL architecture
- Develop and maintain Quality Assurance checks to support data quality, integrity, and lineage
- Conduct performance analysis and undertake code optimisation when required
- Perform unit and system testing for all BI and data warehouse developments
- Use Azure DevOps for platform deployments and development lifecycle management
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including metadata repositories
- Contribute proactively to planning sessions, provide regular updates, and communicate risks or blockers
- Work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders while maintaining autonomy and strong time management Joining Akkodis as a Consultant
