Security Officer (Brisbane)

About The Role We are hiring 2x full-time permanent relievers to work within a 24/7 security operation. You will be required to demonstrate flexibility to work across day and night shifts in a variety of roles within the Powerlink contract. Duties will include general gatehouse operations and other security-related responsibilities, as well as continuous monitoring and coordination of security events across Powerlink's statewide asset network when assigned to the Security Operations Centre. Reporting To
- Monitor alarms and security systems in real time
- Coordinate first-line responses to security and emergency incidents
- Escalate incidents in line with defined procedures
- Maintain accurate operational records and reports
- Support field teams, emergency services, and remote personnel What You’ll Be Doing
- Monitoring CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and duress systems
- Assessing and prioritising alarms and security events
- Coordinating incident responses and liaising with Police, Fire, Ambulance and SES
- Supporting lone workers, remote sites, and interstate or international travel incidents
- Using systems such as Gallagher, CCTV/VMS platforms, duress systems, and International SOS
- Completing accurate incident logs, reports, and evidentiary records
- Participating in structured shift handovers and maintaining operational discipline About You You are an experienced SOC or control room operator who remains calm and focused under pressure, can manage multiple systems and incidents at once, communicates clearly and professionally, and follows procedures and documentation standards rigorously. Experience in critical infrastructure, utilities, energy, transport, defence, policing, or emergency services is highly regarded. Mandatory Requirements
- Queensland Security Licence (Monitoring & Unarmed)
- Ability to obtain or hold AGSVA Baseline clearance
