Centre Cook – Healthy Kids, Permanent Role & Growth (Brisbane)

Cook – Papilio Sherwood for 35 hours per week, 8 am

We are passionate about helping children develop a lifelong appreciation for healthy choices through nutritious, delicious meals. We’re now looking for a dedicated Cook to join our supportive and fun-loving team. The Role As our Centre Cook, you will play a key role in supporting children’s wellbeing through quality nutrition. You will:
- Plan and prepare healthy, balanced meals for children of all ages
- Create menus that support growth and development
- Manage ordering, stock control and kitchen budgets
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene
- Cater for allergies and individual dietary requirements
- Engage with children and families, sharing your love of healthy food You’ll also benefit from access to our national network of centre cooks, sharing ideas, recipes and best practice, along with the Feed Australia program to support menu planning and nutrition. About You You are a capable and organised cook who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and making a positive impact. You will bring:
- Experience in bulk meal preparation and kitchen management
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
- The ability to plan and deliver nutritious meals for children
- A genuine interest in contributing to children’s learning around healthy eating Essential Requirements
- Food Safety & Food Handlers Certificate
- Experience in a cooking role (ECEC experience highly regarded)
- First Aid, CPR, Asthma & Anaphylaxis (or willingness to obtain)
- Reliable transport Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (desirable) Why Join Affinity?
