- Preparing, seasoning, and cooking a wide range of dishes using traditional and modern cooking techniques.
- Assist in planning menus and estimating food requirements and costs.
- Ensure food preparation and presentation meet quality and consistency standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen workstations in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Monitor food stock levels and assist with ordering supplies and ingredients.
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with Food Authority hygiene and safety regulations.
- Assist in developing recent menu items and seasonal specials.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and front‑of‑house staff to ensure efficient service.
- Ensure proper storage of food and minimize waste. Essential Skills & Key Competencies
- Strong knowledge of commercial kitchen operations and food preparation techniques.
- Ability to prepare and cook high‑quality meals in a quick‑paced restaurant environment.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene regulations.
- Ability to manage multiple orders and maintain consistency during busy service periods.
- Robust teamwork and communication skills within a kitchen environment.
- Ability to maintain high standards of food presentation and quality. Experience Required
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Cook in a fast‑paced restaurant or similar environment.
- Certificate III/IV or higher in Commercial Cookery and Kitchen Management.
- Relevant hospitality or culinary training is advantageous.
- Food Safety / Food Handling Certificate is preferred. Additional Requirements (Soft Skills)
- Robust attention to detail and passion for cooking.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours including weekends.
