Databricks Architect (Brisbane City)

Job Description The role involves designing secure, scalable and cost‑efficient Databricks environments. It includes leading platform design, setting up robust governance controls and ensuring good integration with Azure, AWS or on‑prem workloads. The architect also leads migration of data and analytics workloads into Databricks and provides guidance on cluster, notebook and pipeline best practice. Essential responsibilities:
- Design the Databricks platform architecture.
- Lead workload migrations and define platform governance and security controls.
- Develop integration patterns and provide technical direction across clusters, notebooks and jobs.
- Deliver ongoing support: review solution designs, optimise pipelines and cluster performance, resolve technical platform issues.
- Work closely with project teams and stakeholders to align with client expectations.
- Contribute to capability uplift: share reusable patterns, coach team members, and actively participate in internal and external Databricks community initiatives. Qualifications
- Deep knowledge of Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, Lakeflow.
- Strong understanding of big data patterns and architectures.
- Experience with Azure or AWS data and analytics workloads.
- Databricks Professional certification preferred.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
- Ability to guide and influence technical teams.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and resilience under pressure.
