Engineering Design Manager (Brisbane City)

We have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Design Manager to join our Brisbane team. - Lead, manage, and mentor a team of engineers and designers, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and high performance
- Liaise with senior members of the design team to manage resources understand project requirements and deliver solutions that meet expectations
- Demonstrate creativity, foresight, and mature judgement in anticipating and solving design issues
- Ensure work output is of a technically high standard, meets client needs, and activities are commercially viable
- Encourage team members to develop and continuously undertake new challenges to promote growth
- Preparation of fee proposals for new projects and contract variations that may span multiple disciplines both within and external to Orion
- Ensure all designs adhere to industry standards, regulations, and best practices
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members throughout the design process Skills and Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, with RPEQ accreditation
- Minimum 10+ years civil engineering design experience within land development industry
- Advanced experience in the use of 12D/Civil 3D, DRAINS, MUSIC and AutoCAD software
- Advanced knowledge in hydrological and hydraulic design principles
- Demonstrate understanding and compliance with Australian standards and LGA road and drainage design principles
- Excellent leadership, communication (written, verbal and presentation) and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prepare road, lot, drainage strategies independently and manage design and drafting activities
