Lawyer/Associate – Property Insurance (Indemnity, Defence and Recoveries) General Insurance | Brisbane

We have an opportunity for a Lawyer/Associate to join our thriving national General Insurance practice based in Brisbane. The primary focus of this role is property and construction insurance, including high‑quantum recoveries, first‑party indemnity disputes, property damage defence claims and other general insurance matters. Responsibilities
- Client interaction and strategy.
- Working with a team of lawyers.
- Reviewing documents and preparing evidence.
- Drafting correspondence to the Court and third parties.
- Conferencing with witnesses and preparing witness statements.
- Preparing briefs for counsel.
- Drafting Court documents and attendance at Court.
- Drafting client advices.
- Drafting letters of instruction to experts. Qualifications
- Minimum three years of post‑admission experience in general insurance law.
- Experience in property/construction recoveries and liability defence for insurers.
- Experience in day‑to‑day management of files and running matters through court proceedings.
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers or paralegals is highly regarded.
- Team player with a "can‑do" attitude and strong interest in defendant insurance law.
- Excellent technical, analytical and drafting skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
