Your new role:As the Senior Social Worker
- Complex Mortality & Bereavement Support Officer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality Social Work services within the Clinical Governance Unit by:Providing advanced Social Work assessment, intervention and support to patients, families and carers experiencing complex bereavement and mortality-related mattersSupporting families and next of kin through coronial processes, funeral arrangements and sensitive deceased patient management mattersCollaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, external agencies and government stakeholders including the Coroners Court of Queensland, Queensland Police Service and Funeral DirectorsContributing to service development, quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based clinical practice within Clinical GovernanceAssisting with mortality review processes, compliance reporting, Ryan's Rule and Open Disclosure activitiesProviding supervision, education and guidance to less experienced clinicians, students and Allied Health AssistantsSupporting continuous improvement initiatives and helping drive the transition toward a more digitally enabled serviceAbout you:You are a compassionate and highly capable Social Work qualified who thrives in complex clinical environments and brings:Demonstrated experience delivering high-level Social Work services within a hospital or healthcare settingStrong knowledge of bereavement support, deceased patient management and complex family dynamicsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise sensitively with families, clinicians and external stakeholdersThe ability to manage competing priorities and exercise sound clinical judgement with a high level of independenceExperience contributing to quality improvement, service development and evidence-based practice initiativesProven capability to provide supervision, mentoring and support to clinicians and studentsEligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)A commitment to patient-centred care, collaboration and Metro South Health's values of Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Engagement and ExcellenceCheck out our quick tips and application essentials!What we can offer you:Flexible working arrangements that support work-life balanceAccess to ongoing professional development, learning opportunities and career progression pathwaysA collaborative and multidisciplinary team environment where your expertise is valuedYou'll have all the benefits of working for Queensland's world-class public health system including generous leave entitlements, attractive salary and remuneration packages, salary packaging and access to relevant professional development allowances and/or leave, study and research assistance, corporate discounts and employee wellness programs.Logan Hospital:Logan Hospital is the major health centre for one of the fastest growing areas in Queensland.
