Job Title Solution Architect (Contract – Initial 12-month contract with possible extensions) Location: Brisbane CBD, flexible working arrangements on offer Overview Our client is a major Queensland Government agency undertaking a digital transformation initiative focused on HCM solutions and cloud integration. They are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to lead the architectural design of this complex, large-scale, long-term program which aims to replace the department's legacy core HR and payroll systems with a up-to-date SaaS solution. The role involves designing and delivering end-to-end architecture solutions, leveraging Azure Stack, and requires extensive experience with Azure, strong leadership, and expertise in governance, security, and configuration using Azure tools. Responsibilities
- Lead solution architecture across enhancements to Human Capital Management solutions and related integration processes.
- Review and recommend reduction of technical debt and transitions across private and public cloud platforms, systems, and modules.
- Assess transition to cloud-based solutions and recommend future technology directions.
- Develop end-to-end solution architectures using Microsoft Azure services and SAP HCM.
- Design scalable, secure, high-performance solutions that meet business requirements and align with enterprise architecture standards.
- Implement integration solutions between Azure and SAP HCM, ensuring seamless data flow.
- Develop strategies for data migration, transformation, and synchronization; ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Conduct regular reviews of architecture and design to identify potential risks or improvements.
- Participate in the Architecture Review Board, governance forums, and lead design practices to ensure compliance with security and architectural standards. Qualifications & Experience
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure services (Azure Functions, Logic Apps, DevOps, AD, Integration Services) and strong leadership capabilities.
- Proven expertise in Azure governance, security, and configuration using Azure tools.
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code).
- Solid experience with integration tools such as Azure Logic Apps, Azure Fabric, or middleware platforms.
- In-depth knowledge of SAP HCM modules (Core HR/Payroll, Recruitment, LMS, workforce analytics, Personnel Administration, Organisational Management, Payroll, Time Management).
- Architectural guidance for SAP HCM integration with Azure Integration Services or SAP Cloud Platform Integration.
- Demonstrable solution architecture experience (both logical and physical) for ERP/Human Capital Management on-premises, cloud, or hybrid solutions, with complex integration levels.
- 3-5 years of recent solution architecture experience in large-scale integration projects.
- Experience producing roadmaps, patterns, and aligning strategies for efficient reuse of solutions.
- Proficiency with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, ITIL) and development frameworks.
