Description
Electrical Testers The Position The ideal candidate will have hands on experience testing or commissioning low voltage (LV) and medium voltage (MV) switchboards and switchrooms for medium to large industrial or mining projects. You will work as part of a collaborative team, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and bring a proactive, reliable and safety focused approach to your work. Positions are available at our manufacturing site in Queensland, Hemmant. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct electrical testing of LV and MV switchboards and switchrooms
- Perform functional, continuity, insulation resistance, micro ohm testing
- Carry out protection relay testing and verification
- Conduct primary and secondary injection testing
- Perform mechanical and electrical interlock testing
- Verify control wiring functionality and PLC interfaces where applicable
- Maintain project specific documentation, revision control and test records
- Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, client specifications and internal QA processes
- Liaise with Project Managers and Engineering teams regarding design changes and technical queries
- Inspect projects during manufacturing to ensure quality and adherence to timelines
- Maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others
- Apply strong problem-solving skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude The successful applicant will preferably have:
- Experience in LV and MV switchboard design, construction, testing or commissioning
- Strong understanding of AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 6143, and relevant electrical standards
- Ability to interpret Single Line Diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams and GA drawings
- Proficiency with electrical test equipment including:
- Multimeters
- Primary and secondary current injection test sets
- Micro-ohm meters
- Insulation resistance testers
- Hi-Pot test sets
- Experience creating and maintaining ITPs, ITRs and test documentation
- QLD Electrical Fitter Mechanic Licence (or equivalent)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team Schedule
- Full time and casual positions available: Monday – Friday & with overtime.
