Role Overview As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for the detailed design and FEA analysis of rotating and vibrating equipment. You will analyse difficult and occasionally complex engineering problems, direct efforts of other Engineers, Designers and Drafters, and support the design, engineering and delivery of new and complex product design projects. Responsibilities
- Interpret, organise, execute, and coordinate design engineering assignments involving unique and complex problems while ensuring compliance to local legislation and regional industry standards.
- Contribute to the development of design standards, guides, guide specifications and design control procedures in line with local legislation and industry standards.
- Plan, organise and supervise engineering activities for major projects.
- Represent product lines/projects at meetings and conferences.
- Prepare patents and technical papers for conferences or technical publications.
- Participate in the development of project design concepts and criteria.
- Analyse complex design problems requiring new or improved techniques or procedures.
- Review and approve design drawings and customer specifications.
- Participate actively in a team environment and contribute to successful completion of team goals.
- Accept accountability for both individual and team performance.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures; report all unsafe activities to supervisor or safety.
- Perform any other duties reasonably directed by the supervisor. Qualifications
- Mechanical Engineering qualification with 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Ability to analyse and solve complex engineering problems through advanced knowledge.
- Experience in vibration analysis of equipment using first principles and FEA methods.
- Experience in developing project design concepts and criteria.
- Proficiency in ANSYS and SolidWorks (preferred). Benefits
