About The Role L3Harris in Eight Mile Plains is The Centre of Excellence for Electronic Warfare and is home to world‑leading design, manufacture and integration expertise and the sustainment of high‑reliability electronic warfare components. Our highly skilled workforce design and develop Australia’s sovereign defence capabilities such as the next‑generation space, airborne and cyber capabilities for the Australian warfighter. As part of the RF team, you will be working with a team of highly skilled RF electronics engineers to solve complex design challenges by utilising modern tools and software. The opportunity will challenge you to think out of the box and deliver innovative and cutting‑edge solutions. What The Role Will Involve
- Design and deliver RF circuits, modules, and systems, including simulation, prototyping, and validation.
- Define and verify RF performance requirements and specifications.
- Identify and manage technical risks, making informed trade‑offs.
- Act as RF technical authority for assigned projects.
- Review and approve RF designs and documentation in line with engineering processes.
- Develop manufacturing documentation, test procedures, and acceptance criteria.
- Support procurement through component selection and supplier evaluation.
- Ensure compliance with AS9100, quality standards, and security/export controls.
- Drive continuous improvement and support team capability development.
- Provide RF expertise to stakeholders and contribute to bids, proposals, and R&D; activities. What You’ll Bring
- Degree‑qualified in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or equivalent) with a strong RF, microwave, or photonics focus.
- 6+ years’ experience in RF engineering or a similar role.
- Eligible for RPEQ registration.
- Hands‑on experience with RF test equipment and active RF device design, control, and testing.
- Experience in system‑level RF design and RF line‑up budget analysis.
- Proficient in RF simulation and modelling tools (e.g. CST, Microwave Office, MATLAB, Python).
- Hold Australian Government Security Clearance NV1 (minimum) or NV2 (desirable).
- Be eligible to handle ITAR regulated technical data. Desirable:
- Experience designing substrate or cavity filters and EMI/EMC compliance.
- Exposure to Electronic Warfare systems.
- Experience with antennas, photonics, or optical systems.
- Familiarity with hermetic modules, bare‑die components, and PCB design tools (e.g. Altium).
- Experience with design for manufacture and supporting production environments.
- Ability to engage with customers to define requirements and develop specifications. A few of our employee benefits are:
