Financial Controller (Brisbane City)

- Lead and manage a team Responsibilities Our client is a well established, privately owned Australian business and a leader in its field. With operations across Queensland, Current South Wales, Western Australia, Tasmania, and New Zealand, they have grown significantly over three decades and now employ 80+ staff. Due to continued growth, they are now looking for a Financial Controller to join their Brisbane based team at their Head Office in Kelvin Grove. Reporting directly to the COO, your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Leading and developing the finance team across accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Month end close, management accounts, and variance analysis across the Group
- Preparing monthly financial reports including actuals, budget variances, full year forecasts, and commentary
- Treasury management — daily cash flows, loan facility compliance, and capital raising support
- All statutory lodgements and returns — BAS, PAYG, payroll tax, FBT, and ASIC
- Joint venture reporting and intercompany reconciliations
- Liaising with external Accountants for annual financial statements and audit matters
- Investment appraisal and financial analysis on major projects and new proposals
- Driving process improvement and automation across finance systems and workflows
- Partnering with SLT on strategic planning and scenario analysis Qualifications Ideally you will be CA/CPA qualified, have at least 10+ years' experience, demonstrated in a similar senior finance role, and bring proven experience leading and mentoring a finance team. Oracle Netsuite experience or experience implementing an ERP an advantage. You will have strong knowledge of AASB's including revenue recognition and lease accounting, excellent financial modelling skills, and the ability to communicate confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
