Electrical Procurement Specialist – Solar & BESS Location: Brisbane, Queensland, Australia Pay range: A$125,000.00/yr – A$145,000.00/yr INTEC Energy Solutions is a global EPC and O&M; company delivering turnkey solutions for solar power plants and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). As our Australian project portfolio grows, we are seeking a qualified Electrical Engineer with solar and/or BESS experience to join our Procurement team. This role will support the sourcing, procurement, and management of electrical materials, equipment, and subcontracted services across utility‑scale solar, HV/LV substations, and BESS projects, ensuring alignment with technical requirements, budgets, and project schedules. Key Responsibilities
- Lead procurement of electrical equipment, materials, and subcontracted services for utility‑scale solar and BESS projects, ensuring compliance with project technical specifications.
- Collaborate with Project Management, Engineering, Construction, and Commercial teams to coordinate procurement activities and support project timelines.
- Evaluate supplier proposals, assist in preparing RFQs, and provide technical input to purchasing decisions.
- Monitor supplier performance, ensuring delivery, quality, and safety standards are met.
- Support tendering and pre‑contract activities by providing electrical engineering expertise for procurement and supplier selection.
- Contribute to long‑term supplier relationship management and sourcing strategies.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for procurement processes, systems, and technical standards. Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- 3–5+ years’ experience in electrical procurement within EPC, construction, or subcontractor environments.
- Hands‑on experience supporting solar and/or BESS projects in Australia.
- Strong knowledge of LV, MV, and HV electrical systems, substations, inverters, transformers, switchgear, and balance‑of‑system components.
- Experience from tender through to project delivery, with a strong commercial and technical understanding of electrical packages.
- Understanding of Australian energy standards, grid codes, and regulatory frameworks.
- Robust negotiation, supplier management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficient in MS Office, ERP systems, and procurement reporting tools. Why Join Us?
