Job Title Customer Support Engineer
- JP2060 About the Role You will work on the Defence Health Capability program, a joint initiative between Saab Australia and Philips Australia to deliver innovative healthcare solutions for military and humanitarian operations. The role involves performing maintenance activities (preventative and corrective), conducting inspections, and providing engineering support for equipment such as patient monitoring, defibrillators, ventilators, anaesthesia systems, electrosurgery systems, and more. Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the on-site Bio-Med/Field Service Engineer and ambassador of Philips, ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to project activities.
- Execute technical service against requests, incidents, or planned activities.
- Accurately document service records, diagnostics, resolution procedures, and case status using the service management system.
- Handle customer escalations, complaints, and feedback, following processes to capture information and manage action plans.
- Perform maintenance, level-one repairs, and problem solving across all products under the Philips workshare, irrespective of vendor.
- Lead technical escalations to resolution, keeping stakeholders updated on progress per company processes.
- Maintain knowledge through continuous training and development, staying current with current technologies.
- Work reasonable additional hours outside normal business hours as required. Required Qualifications
- Degree-level education or equivalent experience in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum two years of customer-facing service engineering experience in the medical equipment industry.
- Experience as an engineer in the Australian Defence Force specializing in communications electronics, radar, instrumentation, or avionics is an advantage.
- Strong IT skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Full Australian driver's licence and willingness to undertake frequent travel across Australia.
- Police checks and military clearance required. Travel Requirements Based at JP2060 Support Centre, Bundamba, Queensland, with regular travel to defence establishments across Queensland, Northern Territory, South Australia, New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania.
