Eighty-seven percent of graduates completing the program stay on to be employed by the Queensland Government post-program. Our graduates' salaries can increase up to $27,000 (based at AO5 level) or more after completing the 2-year program. 1. The exact salary will be determined as per the applicable enterprise bargaining agreement. As an indicator, the minimum AO3 rate under the State Government Entities Certified Agreements 2023 as at 1 July 2025 is $76,217. 2. They apply machine learning algorithms and data analytics to solve complex problems and enhance the capabilities of AI systems. AI graduates are crucial in developing intelligent systems that can perform tasks requiring human-like cognition and decision‑making abilities. Key responsibilities
- collaborating with technology and business teams to understand the applications and implications of AI within the business
- working within interdisciplinary teams to implement AI solutions, with support, that align with project requirements
- supporting the testing, and deployment of new AI systems and enhancements to existing architectures
- monitoring AI system performance and suggesting improvement initiatives for accuracy and efficiency
- providing feedback on the ethical use of AI technologies in line with departmental standards and regulations
- stay updated with the latest AI trends, techniques, and technologies to contribute to discussions and innovation within the team
- documenting AI processes, including algorithm selection, data flow, and system architecture, ensuring clear understanding and reproducibility
- engaging in team meetings and contributing to the development of project timelines and deliverables. Ideal candidate profile
- demonstrate a customer‑focused approach with a strong analytical mindset
- be self‑motivated, with the ability to work independently
- possess excellent time management and communication skills
- have the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. Technical skills Knowledge of:
- Machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit‑learn) and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, Java).
- Experience with data processing and visualisation tools (e.g., SQL, Pandas, Matplotlib).
- Familiarity with neural networks, predictive modelling, and natural language processing. Qualifications A degree in:

- Hold a degree in one of these fields:
- Information Technology and related fields: Information technology, cloud computing, cyber security, computer science, data analytics, robotics, information management, mathematics, software or systems engineering.
- Emerging Technologies and AI: Artificial intelligence, automation development.
- Strategic Management and Business: Business, marketing, or project management.
- Design and Creative Industries: Web and multimedia design, user experience (UX) or interactive design.
- International students currently residing in Australia must also have:
- Unrestricted working rights in Australia until at least February 2029. This includes:
- Permanent Residency, citizenship, or work‑related visas (e.g., Temporary Graduate 485 Visa) that permit full‑time, unrestricted work.
- Evidence of transitioning to unrestricted working rights (if on a bridging visa). Successful applicants
