Specialise in bespoke cooling tower design across Australia and New Zealand. Mentored directly by a Chartered Structural Engineer and Technical Director. Brand new head office and fabrication facility in Yatala, QLD. A national leader in process cooling solutions and mechanical services is expanding its engineering team and is looking for a Structural Engineer to take on a varied, technically demanding portfolio. Every project is bespoke. Clients span power generation, petrochemicals, resources and sugar across Australia and New Zealand, and no two assets are the same. The role Based at the newly built Yatala head office and fabrication facility, you will sit within a multi-disciplinary engineering team and split your time between design work and travel for site inspections. Your remit will include new builds, refurbishments and complex repair projects, with full involvement from concept through to delivery. Day to day you will:
- Design and deliver structural solutions for new and refurbished cooling tower projects
- Conduct national site inspections, with technical reporting and repair or upgrade recommendations
- Run multiple projects concurrently, collaborating with project managers, designers and site crews
- Manage delivery against scope, budget and programPrepare proposals and contribute to tender submissions
- Coordinate with mechanical and piping design teams to ensure clean integration
- Maintain compliance with relevant Australian codes and standards What you will bring:
- A minimum of 5 years of structural engineering experience, ideally in industrial or harsh environments
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- CPEng and / or RPEQ, or actively working towards registration
- Strong working knowledge of AS / NZS ****, **** and ****
- Experience inspecting assets on site and producing explicit technical reports
- An understanding of mechanical and piping design interfaces
- Strong project management, prioritisation and stakeholder skills
- Inventor or similar design software experience (desirable)
- Australian residency or valid working rights
