Senior Mechanical Project Engineer (Brisbane City)

C.M.B. Consulting Services is supporting a current EPC Oil & Gas Sector client who is seeking a Senior Project Engineer, Mechanical, with extensive experience in facilities, which is a must. You will play a key role across planning, execution, and completion, supporting the delivery of gas facilities infrastructure and working closely with the client and contractor teams. The role: You will be responsible for supporting and driving the delivery of the mechanical scope across a major Oil & Gas EPC Facility project, with a focus on coordination, execution planning, subcontractor interface, and client engagement. Key responsibilities:
- Support EPC delivery across mechanical and associated infrastructure scopes
- Coordinate project execution activities to meet safety, quality, cost, and schedule targets
- Assist in establishing site and contractor readiness in line with execution and HSE management plans
- Oversee mobilisation and onboarding of subcontractors and suppliers
- Drive progress against key project milestones and proactively remove delivery constraints
- Manage interfaces between engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with the client and key stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and quality requirements
- Support logistics, materials coordination, expediting, and inspection activities as required
- Contribute to reporting, planning, risk management, and construction readiness reviews What we’re looking for:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- 7+ years’ experience in major Oil & Gas or related infrastructure projects
- Strong project engineering or construction delivery background in EPC environments
- Mandatory gas facilities experience
- Proven experience supporting the delivery of mechanical infrastructure packages
- Strong understanding of planning, execution, subcontractor management, and interface coordination
- Experience in expediting to maintain project schedules
- Exposure to logistics coordination for procurement, transport, and materials management
- Knowledge of inspection, quality, safety, and risk management processes
