C++ Software Engineer | Autonomous Systems (Brisbane City)

Senior Software Engineer – Autonomous Systems | UAS | Inertial Navigation Location: Brisbane, QLD Reqiva are partnered with a growing engineering business developing a next-generation autonomous platform in Brisbane. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to work closely with the Head of Software across the development of mission-critical systems including vehicle management, autonomy and platform stability. This is an opportunity to join a highly advanced engineering environment focused on real-world autonomous systems, complex software integration and high-performance engineering. The Role You will play a key role across the software development lifecycle, contributing to the design, development and integration of software systems within a multidisciplinary engineering team. Key responsibilities include:
- Development of software systems in C++ and Python
- Vehicle Management System (VMS) development
- Real-time systems integration
- Embedded and systems engineering
- Sensor integration and telemetry systems
- Supporting platform reliability, control systems and stability
- Working closely with software, systems and hardware engineering teams
- Contributing to architecture, testing and optimisation activities Desired Experience We are interested in engineers with strong software engineering fundamentals and experience working within complex systems environments. Experience in any of the following would be highly beneficial:
- Autonomous systems
- inertial navigation
- Robotics
- Aerospace / UAS
- INS / GPS / GNSS integration
- Flight systems or systems stability
- Embedded or real-time systems
- Vehicle Management Systems Engineers from adjacent sectors including mining autonomy, robotics, automotive or defence systems are also encouraged to apply. Likewise, candidates operating at Principal, Staff, Lead or Senior Software Engineer level will all be considered. Why Join?
