**ABOUT YOU**
Robust relationship-building skills with clients and stakeholders are essential, as is a genuine desire to provide the best quality support for people with disabilities, including those with dementia and other complex disabilities.
**Requirements**:
- Availability Monday to Sunday.
- Assisting clients with social outings, visits to local shops, and community access.
- Some personal care may be required.
- Seeking a **Male support worker** with clear English communication skills.
- Previous experience working with dementia clients and other complex disabilities.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Build rapport and collaborate effectively with staff, management, participants, and their families to achieve positive outcomes.
- Assist participants with their goals and empower them to achieve independence through skill development.
- Provide regular and professional support in line with participants' plans, needs, and desires.
- Support participants in accessing social and community activities, promoting a healthy lifestyle.
- Implement strategies to enhance participants' skills, identify areas for additional support, and explore opportunities to help them achieve their goals.
**SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**
- Minimum of **Certificate III in Individual Support** or **Certificate IV in Disability/Aged Care**, or equivalent qualification (mandatory).
- Current **First Aid Level 2 Certificate** (mandatory).
- Experience working with clients with **dementia** (preferred).
- **National Police Check** (mandatory).
- **Own vehicle** with comprehensive insurance (preferred but not essential).
- **Manual handling** experience (preferred).
- **Administration of medication** experience (preferred).
- **Current CPR** certification (annual).
- **Working with Children’s Check (WWCC)** (mandatory).
- **Current Australian Driver's License** (MUST).
- **Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate** (mandatory).
- **ABN** and **Public Liability Insurance** (preferred).
**Job Type**: Casual **Pay**: $35.00
- $38.00 per hour
**Schedule**:
- Morning shift
- Afternoon shift
- Day shift
- Weekend availability
**Location: Fawkner**
(You must be able to reliably commute or be planning to relocate before starting work)
