The Bureau of Meteorology Training Centre (BMTC) delivers the technical and skilled training for the meteorological observations and forecasting roles unique to meteorological agencies. The Training Centre also manages the National Meteorological Library, the whole of enterprise Learning Management System (LMS), the training and qualification records within the Enterprise Business System (EBS) and funds the strategic capability development priorities for the enterprise.

The Instructional and Online Learning Designer works as part of a team, reporting to the Manager, Meteorologist Initial Training, located at the Bureau's Training Facility in Broadmeadows.

To ensure integration with the Bureau learning teams in People Solutions and the Bureau of Meteorology Training Centre, the Learning Designer will be a member of and contribute to the Bureau's e-Learning Community of Practice.

To be successful in this role, the occupant will need high-level instructional design and online learning skills, along with experience with the Moodle Learning Management System. Working under limited supervision, the occupant will use well developed communication skills and a passion for working with people to deliver high quality online learning packages.
