Job Summary

The Trade Sales Associate’s primary role involves assisting customers directly, completing sales transactions, and ensuring accurate and secure movement of products within the yard, store, or warehouse. They also support the team in meeting and surpassing service delivery expectations for customers. While industry experience is always welcome, we are keen to bring new people into the industry.

Key Responsibilities

Assists with customer enquiries;

Works with team to ensure branch success and provides excellent customer service;

Co-operates with other departments and work locations to fulfil customer orders;

Completes work orders and receiving documents accurately;

Operates point of sale (POS) system to transact sales;

Builds product knowledge;

Assists in maintaining warehouse equipment;

Operates a forklift;

Rotates yard stock;

Performs material handling activities such as counting, weighing, sorting, loading and unloading;

Handles inbound material receiving and allocation to a yard, store, or warehouse;

Accurately loads vehicles for outgoing deliveries;

Checks stock levels and notify appropriate supervisor when minimum stock levels are reached;

Reports all damage and/or loss of stock.

Key Requirements

Ability to establish priorities and accomplish multiple tasks with mínimal supervision;

Solid team-player mentality;

Quick learner with a proactive approach to learning;

Experience with building materials is desirable;

Forklift experience is desirable;

Proficiency in reading, writing, and performing basic math functions;

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;

Attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks;

Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and work in a quick-paced setting;
