Retail Operations | Inventory Control | Administration | Customer Service | Merchandising | Sales As a Retail Operations & Sales Assistant at SportsPower Broome, you will play a vital role in supporting both the operational and customer-facing aspects of the business. This position combines inventory management, administration, online order fulfilment, merchandising and retail sales responsibilities to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the store. Working closely with the owner and retail team, you will assist with receiving and processing stock, maintaining accurate inventory records, supporting local sporting clubs, schools, businesses, and community organisations, while delivering exceptional customer service. The role requires a proactive and adaptable individual who can confidently move between administrative tasks, warehouse duties, and customer interactions throughout the day. Key Responsibilities Inventory & Stock Management Receive, unpack, and process incoming stock deliveries. Accurately enter stock quantities into the Retail Express point-of-sale system. Verify stock received against supplier invoices and purchase orders. Ensure product information, pricing, and inventory records are maintained accurately. Print and attach price tags and product labels to stock before it is displayed on the shop floor. Organise and maintain stock in the warehouse and storage areas. Assist with stock rotation, replenishment, and inventory control. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised back-of-house environment. Perform manual handling and lifting of stock as required. Administration & Operations Process purchase orders through the Retail Express system. Maintain organised invoice records, including printing, filing, archiving and email management. Ensure supplier invoices are accurately matched and entered into the system. Process online orders and Click & Collect transactions. Prepare quotes for local sporting clubs, schools, businesses, organisations and community groups. Create, print, laminate, and organise product labels, promotional material, and store signage. Utilise Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Word, for administrative and operational tasks. Maintain accurate records and data entry across systems and spreadsheets. Support daily store opening and closing procedures including: Starting up tills, computers and store systems at the beginning of each trading day, complete end-of-day cash handling and cash reconciliation procedures. Sales & Customer Service Deliver friendly, professional, and knowledgeable customer service. Assist customers with product selection and provide honest recommendations based on their needs. Assist customers with teamwear, uniform, and sporting equipment enquiries for local clubs, schools, and organisations. Conduct footwear fittings and assist multiple customers simultaneously during busy periods. Maintain and continually develop knowledge of sporting footwear, apparel, equipment, teamwear and accessories. Operate point-of-sale systems and process customer transactions efficiently. Support local sporting clubs, schools, organisations, and businesses with product enquiries and requirements. Build positive relationships with both local customers and visitors to the region. Assist colleagues on the shop floor whenever required and seamlessly return to administrative duties. Store Presentation & Merchandising Contribute to maintaining a clean, organised and welcoming retail environment. Support store-wide housekeeping duties, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping and restocking. Assist the team with merchandising displays, stock presentation and store upkeep. Assemble and maintain footwear displays and product merchandising areas. Assist with table displays, mannequin presentations and promotional merchandising. Assist with creating visually appealing product displays that enhance the customer shopping experience. Ensure all pricing, signage, and product information is accurate and professionally presented. Reorganise stock areas and back-of-house warehouse storage to maximise efficiency and accessibility. Assist with seasonal merchandising changes and promotional campaigns. Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will: Be reliable, responsible, and self-motivated. Have strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail. Be able to transition seamlessly between administration, stock processing, customer service and sales responsibilities throughout the day. Be comfortable working independently and as part of a close-knit team. Possess excellent communication and customer service skills. Demonstrate initiative and the ability to problem-solve. Be able to prioritise tasks and adapt quickly when customer needs arise. Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to assist wherever required, from stock processing and administration to customer service and sales. Have competent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word. Be willing to learn and use retail management systems such as Retail Express. Be physically capable of lifting and moving stock safely. Have the ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced retail workplace. Be flexible with working hours, including occasional weekend shifts when required. Take pride in maintaining high standards of store presentation and organisation. Have an interest in sport, footwear, apparel, and sporting equipment, with a willingness to continually develop product knowledge. Working Environment This role is five days per week, occasional weekend shifts as required. Success in this position requires flexibility, teamwork, accountability, and a willingness to contribute across all areas of the business.
