About the role As a Youth Support Officer, you will provide positive role modelling to help young people develop the life skills needed to move toward a law‑abiding lifestyle. You’ll support young people and their families to work toward the goals outlined in their through‑care and case‑coordination plans, and assist them to achieve the best possible outcomes. The role includes liaising with internal and external stakeholders to support each young person’s progress, coordinating or providing transport so they can attend programmes identified in their plans, and working alongside Senior Youth Justice Officers and Youth Justice Officers to promote effective parenting and support parents and caregivers in their responsibilities. You will provide regular, relevant feedback and reports on each young person’s progress and contribute positively as part of the workplace team. Permanent positions – To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia. WWC positions – In accordance with the National Child Safety Principles, people who work directly with children and young people must have a current Working with Children Check or be able to successfully apply for one to be eligible for appointment to this position.
