**About the Role** The Manager, Strategic Operational Planning will play a pivotal role in developing and overseeing the strategic operational plans for the University’s estate partnership model. This position involves collaborating with various University divisions to create, implement, and manage operational plans, processes, and procedures to support key strategic initiatives. Additionally, the role will provide expert advice, foster stakeholder engagement, and contribute to building the capability of the Estate Planning and Performance team.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Developing and leading an operating plan for the University’s estate partnerships model, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Reviewing existing operational planning practices to identify opportunities for strategic alignment and consistency across the University.
- Developing and managing systems for accurate reporting on the University’s operational plans, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Managing complex internal enquiries, providing high-level advice, and fostering relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, while supporting a matrix team to achieve performance goals.

**Who we are looking for** You will have the ability to work collaboratively within a small team to achieve effective outcomes, while demonstrating exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesise complex information into clear reports, strategic advice, and presentations. You will also possess excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence diverse groups and individuals to achieve organisational goals, and consistently demonstrate a commitment to service excellence, collaboration, and relationship-building.

You will also have:

- Extensive experience in dealing with large, complex commercial property portfolios, with a focus on creating consistency, efficiency, and maximising impact through professional operational strategies.
- Proven expertise in working with commercial property operations and developing effective solutions to complex problems.
- Experience in developing operating plans for large, complex, mixed-use property portfolios, including understanding inputs, outcomes, budgets, and the impact of commercial agreements.
- Solid business acumen, with the ability to translate strategy into outcomes and effectively lead programmes of work within a broad strategic framework.

- Corporate Development (CD)** The Corporate Development (CD) team drives the University’s growth and strategic initiatives by identifying and pursuing partnership and investment opportunities. They conduct market research, negotiate deals, and integrate new assets or partners to enhance the University’s value and market presence.

The team consists of six sub-portfolios:

- Corporate Finance and Business Development
- Estate Planning and Performance
- Estate Development
- Commercial Management
- Portfolio Management and Capital Investment
- Treasury & Financial Investments
- Sustainability

The Corporate Development (CD) portfolio's core objective is to advance University strategy and operations by sustainably driving increased institutional capacity and improving stakeholder experience.

The team is responsible for ensuring that the University’s property, infrastructure, and financial assets/liabilities enable strategy and provide a meaningful competitive advantage. The CD team’s key activities include strategy, planning and performance monitoring of the University’s estate; investment in and development of real property; enterprise portfolio management monitoring and reporting; strategic and capital investment planning and processes; oversight and reporting of financial investment portfolios; treasury and financial risk management; debt raising and management; commercial business development arrangement and execution; sustainability strategy development, planning, governance and reporting; and project communications and engagement support.
