Workplace Health & Safety Advisor (Parkville)

The Company Our client is a growing healthcare organisation undergoing an exciting period of transformation and development within the public health sector. The Role This role will suit a hands-on safety skilled who enjoys variety, building relationships and contributing to an evolving environment. You will support BAU WHS functions across the organisation in the short term, while assisting with the review and redevelopment of policies, procedures and safety processes. This is an initial 8-week temporary assignment commencing ASAP, with strong potential for extension and possible longer-term opportunities for the right candidate. This role operates Monday-Friday, 38 hour week, with a hybrid model offered (3 days onsite per week). Duties Reporting into a fantastic Director of Health, Safety & Well being, some of your duties will include:
- Supporting day-to-day WHS operations across the organisation
- Reviewing, updating and developing WHS policies and procedures
- Coordinating and facilitating Health & Safety Committee meetings
- Engaging with Health & Safety Representatives (HSRs) and supporting risk management initiatives
- Responding to internal WHS queries and providing general safety advice
- Supporting safety compliance activities, reporting and documentation
- Assisting with systems and process improvement initiatives
- Conducting workplace risk assessments and safety reviews onsite if required Your Profile
- Previous experience in a similar Health and Safety role
- 2/3 years minimum
- Previous experience in Healthcare or NFP
