Pastry Cook – Full Time (38 hours per week) Iris the Bakery – Brunswick, VIC
- ABN: 31 949 986 730 Iris the Bakery is seeking a skilled and reliable Pastry Cook to join our production team on a full‑time basis (38 hours per week). We are a small, quality‑focused bakery producing a range of pastries, viennoiserie and baked goods for retail and wholesale customers. About the Role This is a hands‑on Pastry Cook position responsible for preparing, producing and finishing a variety of pastry products in line with bakery standards. The role involves early starts, consistent production work, and maintaining high quality across all items. Key Responsibilities
- Preparing pastry doughs including laminated doughs, shortcrust, choux, and enriched doughs.
- Producing pastries and baked goods such as croissants, danishes, and specialty items.
- Measuring and mixing ingredients according to recipes and production requirements.
- Operating bakery equipment including mixers, sheeters, ovens, and proofers safely and efficiently.
- Monitoring baking processes to ensure correct temperature, timing, and product consistency.
- Finishing and decorating pastries, cakes, and baked goods to bakery standards.
- Maintaining cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and tools in accordance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Managing stock including rotation, storage, and preparation of ingredients.
- Following production schedules to meet daily output requirements for retail and wholesale orders.
- Working collaboratively with the bakery team to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Skills & Experience Required
- Experience working as a Pastry Cook,
- Ability to prepare and produce a range of pastries and baked goods to a consistent standard.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and safe equipment operation.
- Ability to work efficiently during early‑morning shifts and meet production deadlines.
- Solid attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team. Employment Details
