Description
**ABOUT AMIR JEWELLERY**

Amir Jewellery is a retail jewellery business specialising in high carat gold pieces and bespoke customer orders. Our work includes custom name jewellery, rings, bangles, pendants and wedding sets, produced to client specifications and manufactured with close attention to finish and fit.

**THE ROLE**

We are seeking a Jewellery Designer to lead the design process for custom and small batch pieces, from client consultation through to production ready specifications for our workshop team and suppliers.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

1. Design new jewellery styles for our range, including rings, chains, bracelets, bangles, earrings and pendants, based on market demand and internal product direction.

2. Refresh and refine existing designs to improve wearability, durability, weight balance, and production efficiency while maintaining the brand look.

3. Produce sketches and CAD files that translate design ideas into workable, production ready models with clear dimensions and stone or setting positions where relevant.

4. Prepare practical manufacturing specifications for the workshop, including metal purity, thickness, clasp and hinge details, surface finish, and polishing requirements.

5. Review sample pieces and production runs, identify issues such as sizing, symmetry, comfort, or finishing defects, and update the design files to prevent repeat errors.

6. Work with the workshop team to confirm feasibility, solve design to production challenges, and improve consistency across repeatable items.

7. Maintain organised design files and product documentation, including version updates, sizing standards, weight targets, and approved variations.

8. Support occasional customised requests by adapting existing designs or proposing a recent design, ensuring the final design suits the customer’s needs and remains practical to manufacture.

- Proven experience designing fine jewellery for real production
- Strong hand sketching and CAD capability for jewellery design
- Solid understanding of gold jewellery construction, stone setting methods and finishing standards
- Ability to translate client preferences into wearable designs within budget and time constraints
