**About the Role**
The Development Manager position within the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) cluster at the University involves leading philanthropic fundraising efforts and engaging stakeholders for three faculties. Reporting to the Senior Director of Advancement, the Development Manager focuses on securing major gifts ranging from $100,000 to $500,000, working both independently and collaboratively. They manage a portfolio of 75-100 donors, cultivating relationships to meet annual income targets and support fundraising priorities within the Faculty of Architecture, Building, and Planning.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Work with University-wide and cluster fundraising colleagues, identify, qualify, cultivate, and solicit prospective major gift donors in support of philanthropic priorities
- Develop positive external relationships with prospective donors, to maximise the benefits to the assigned cluster and the University
- Coordinate with shared services colleagues in the delivery of major gift strategy aligned to assigned projects and agreed annual workplan.
**Who we are looking for** You will demonstrate a proven ability to independently and collaboratively manage donor relationships through identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. Excellent interpersonal skills, adept negotiation abilities, and strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for effectively engaging with diverse stakeholders.
You will also have:
- An appropriate tertiary degree qualification with relevant experience in a role with a significant fundraising component or an equivalent combination of relevant experience
- Demonstrated fundraising experience of working to develop and execute a successful fundraising strategy, particularly in the areas of major philanthropic gifts and grants from individuals and organisations
