Sous Chef Full Time | Melbourne We’re looking for a confident, organised and passionate Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. This is a leadership role for someone who loves service, understands seasonality, and thrives in a fast-paced but thoughtful kitchen. You’ll work closely with the Head Chef to drive consistency, mentor the team, and help shape the direction of the menu. About the Role As Sous Chef, you’ll be responsible for:
- Supporting the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations
- Leading service with confidence and calm under pressure
- Maintaining high standards of food quality, consistency and presentation
- Managing prep, ordering and stock control
- Contributing to menu development and seasonal changes
- Training and mentoring junior chefs and apprentices
- Ensuring food safety and compliance standards are met
- Managing wage targets and helping control kitchen costs You’ll be hands-on in service and a solid communicator who can lead by example. About You
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a quality restaurant kitchen
- Previous experience as a Junior Sous or Sous Chef
- Strong understanding of modern Australian / seasonal cooking
- Confident running sections and leading a pass
- Organised, reliable and solution-focused
- A natural leader who supports and develops their team
