Overview Role type: Full Time (1.0 FTE); Fixed‑term for 24 months. Faculty: Faculty of Science, School of Chemistry. Salary: Level A – $87,266 to $118,416 p.a. plus 17% superannuation. What you will deliver
- Design, fabricate and test cutting‑edge photovoltaic devices using glovebox, cleanroom and specialist characterisation facilities.
- Investigate novel PV materials and device structures, generating publishable insights aligned with ACAP research priorities.
- Lead day‑to‑day operation, maintenance and safety compliance of ACAP device fabrication and testing laboratories.
- Supervise and mentor undergraduate and postgraduate researchers, including second‑supervising PhD projects within the research group.
- Prepare progress reports, journal publications and presentations, and engage regularly with ACAP partners and collaborators. Qualifications and Experience
- Hold a PhD in physical chemistry, experimental physics, electronic device engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Bring hands‑on experience in photovoltaic device fabrication and testing, including working safely in glovebox environments.
- Operate confidently within cleanroom or device fabrication facilities, following rigorous safety, maintenance and risk assessment procedures.
- Demonstrate a strong publication record and excellent written and oral communication for journal articles and presentations.
- Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams, engaging with partners across chemistry, engineering and national ACAP institutions.
- Show initiative in developing new research ideas, securing competitive funding and supervising emerging researchers in the laboratory. What we offer you
