Reporting to the WA News Editor, based in Bunbury, the successful applicant would be responsible for sourcing and writing broadcast news in our vital Mackay news market. What you’ll do:
- Generate original daily story ideas for on‑air presentations
- Interview, write and voice stories
- Develop and maintain contacts in the community
- Research and prepare news reports
- Create an effective and respectful rapport with internal and external stakeholders What you’ll bring: You are a talented and motivated self‑starter who can effectively maintain high levels of personal organisation and time management practices. You possess a creative mindset with energy, enthusiasm and a strong knowledge base in journalism.
- Proven experience writing news stories
- Tertiary qualification in journalism or communications
- Exceptional communication and written skills
- The ability to work to very tight/precise deadlines
