Location: Perth Closing Date: 2024-01-19 4:00 PM This is a pool recruitment process (Ref 00938). This pool will run for a period of twelve (12) months and may be used to fill ongoing fixed term contracts, secondments, acting/relieving and permanent opportunities. Position Objective This position is responsible for the provision and life cycle support of mission critical communications systems and hardware for the Western Australia Police Force (WA Police Force) front-line operations. Carries out essential maintenance and support activities on fixed site infrastructure and mobile assets, including land mobile vehicles, marine vessels and aerial appliances to ensure operational readiness and support public safety, which requires significant travel throughout the state. Applicants are asked to address the following nominated work related requirements in no more than one (1) page:
- Knowledge in land mobile radio communications equipment and Spectrum Management regulations
- In relation to Australian Communications Media Authority (ACMA) specifications and regulations. Applicants are also asked to attach a copy of the following documents with their application:
- Possession of a diploma or relevant qualifications
- Electronic engineering, telecommunications or equivalent trade certificate.
- A current WA motor driver’s licence class “C” Applicants are also required to submit a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV). Your CV should provide enough detail (dot points are sufficient) to allow the selection panel to assess your skills, experience and qualifications relevant to the key accountabilities of the attached Position Description Form. The CV must also include the names and contact details of two (2) referees who can comment on the applicant’s ability to satisfy all of the essential work related requirements. Applicants should nominate at least one immediate (most contemporary) supervisor/manager unless exceptional circumstances exist.
