7News Regional is seeking a driven, multi-skilled Journalist for our Seven Bunbury newsroom.

This is a outstanding chance to work with Australia’s leading broadcast media organisation and will give you the opportunity to improve your journalism skills and take another step in your career.

Reporting to the WA News Editor, based in Bunbury, the successful applicant would be responsible for sourcing and writing broadcast news in our vital Mackay news market.

What you’ll do:

Generate original daily story ideas for on‑air presentations

Interview, write and voice stories

Develop and maintain contacts in the community

Research and prepare news reports

Create an effective and respectful rapport with internal and external stakeholders

What you’ll bring:

You are a talented and motivated self‑starter who can effectively maintain high levels of personal organisation and time management practices. You possess a creative mindset with energy, enthusiasm and a strong knowledge base in journalism.

Proven experience writing news stories

Tertiary qualification in journalism or communications

Exceptional communication and written skills

The ability to work to very tight/precise deadlines

An understanding in Broadcast Law Guidelines
