We’re partnering with a progressive Pilbara-based Shire seeking a Financial Accountant with Local Government experience to step into a critical role supporting finance operations and the wider organisation.

Key Responsibilities: Coordinate day‑to‑day finance operations and ensure deadlines are consistently met Prepare statutory financial statements and monthly reports in line with WA Local Government requirements Perform month end reconciliations across general ledger Maintain and manage the asset register in collaboration with Infrastructure teams Provide responsive, high‑quality financial support all stakeholders

About You: Experienced in Local Government finance (preferred) Solid background in financial reporting, including statutory accounts Experience preparing BAS and FBT returns Advanced Excel and solid MS Office capability Degree in Accounting (essential) ideally CA/CPA qualified or working towards Experienced with ERP systems such as Civica, Synergy, or Technology One One Council or exposure to system implementations and finance transformation projects in the sector
