The Opportunity: The Department is looking to establish a pool of Natural Resource Management Officers with an interest and experience in hydrography and water monitoring to join the Measurement Branch. Appointments will be made to fill current and future vacancies at Level 3 or Level 4, based on demonstrated capability and experience in line with the attached Role Matrix. The Natural Resource Management Officer (Measurement) contributes to delivery of the statewide water measurement program. The program collects and provides quality-assured hydrological data from the department's ground and surface water. The Level 3 Natural Resource Management Officer implements industry-standard hydrometric practices to collect ground and surface water measurements, record observations, operate specialised equipment, and undertake site maintenance. The Level 4 Natural Resource Management Officer reviews and implements industry-standard hydrometric practices, leads field teams to collect ground and surface water measurements, record and quality-assures observations, operate specialised equipment, and coordinate and undertake site maintenance.
