Tessellate Bio is a pioneering and quick-growing international biotechnology company, focusing on targets to address cancers that depend on synthetic lethality mechanisms. We are seeking to expand our creative pipeline by exploiting additional targets for patients’ populations with unmet needs. Our Lab in Stevenage Bioscience Catalyst supports target validation and molecular pharmacology activities to grow the Tessellate business. About the role We are looking for a Scientist/ Senior Scientist to join our team on a one year fixed term contract. In particular, we are looking for someone who can:
- Support the development and execution of laboratory work plans within the Biology Group.
- Author and approve technical documents such as protocols, test methods, test reports and operating procedures.
- Participate in laboratory meetings, providing timely reporting of data and plans to the wider team.
- Work collaboratively with partners to ensure the success of projects.
- Be part of the wider company, attending meetings and team events.
- Other activities may be needed. This position applies technical and scientific knowledge to help design, execute and analyse experiments. Your work will significantly contribute to the direction of the company. About you You will bring experience of biological sciences with a strong cellular background. Ideally, you will have an understanding of cellular pathways and at least one of the following: cellular imaging, Western blotting, qPCR or plate-based cell health assay.
- Ph.D. or MSc in Biological Science.
- Experience in tissue culture techniques (essential) with knowledge of RNAi desirable.
- The ability to work in a start-up environment, independently and as part of a team.
- Hands‑on experience with biochemical and cell-based assays commonly used in oncology drug discovery, ideally with plate‑based assays and/or high‑content imaging.
- Knowledge of appropriate disease animal models is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to both present data clearly and accurately, as well as complete goals & tasks.
- Strong organisation, planning and problem‑solving skills.
- Good relationship building and inclusiveness (in‑person and virtual). What we offer
