About The Opportunity The Events and Administration Support Officer supports the planning, coordination and delivery of Council‑organised and supported events that promote community participation, capacity building and economic benefit. Based at the Bundaberg Multiplex Sport & Convention Centre, this role provides hands‑on event support alongside high‑quality administrative assistance, including website and social media updates. The position works closely with the Events Supervisor, Council staff and community groups to ensure events are delivered safely, professionally and in line with Council procedures About You To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following key selection criteria: Mandatory
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide effective customer service and liaise with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience supporting the coordination and delivery of events, including administrative tasks and hands‑on involvement in event setup and dismantling.
- Proven computer and administrative skills, including experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and data entry systems.
- Demonstrated problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities, with the capacity to work effectively in a fast‑paced or event‑based environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and manage competing priorities to meet deadlines.
- Availability to work weekends and public holidays as required, and possession of a current Class C driver’s licence. Desired
- Knowledge of Council or local government functions and procedures, or previous experience working in a local government environment.
- Experience engaging with community groups and an understanding of event compliance requirements, including insurance, safety and child‑safe practices.
