About the Role
UGG Since 1974 is seeking a talented and experienced Fashion Designer to join our team on a full time basis. This role offers an exciting chance to contribute to the design and development of our collections, ensuring alignment with brand identity, market trends, and commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Research and analyse fashion trends, consumer preferences, and market conditions to inform seasonal design direction.
Develop innovative design concepts for clothing, accessories, or footwear, including themes, color palettes, fabrics, and styling.
Create sketches, illustrations, and digital designs using CAD or similar software.
Select and source fabrics, trims, and materials, balancing quality, cost, and production requirements.
Develop patterns, prototypes, and samples in collaboration with pattern makers and machinists.
Fit, evaluate, and refine garments to ensure design intent, fit, and quality standards are achieved.
Prepare detailed technical specifications, including measurements and construction details for production.
Liaise with manufacturers, suppliers, and production teams to ensure designs are accurately produced.
Oversee production processes to maintain quality, timelines, and design integrity.
Monitor costs and work within budget constraints.
Collaborate with marketing, merchandising, and sales teams to align designs with brand strategy.
Present design concepts and collections to stakeholders.
Maintain documentation of designs and development processes.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, sustainability practices, and ethical sourcing requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Fashion Design or a related field; or:
Minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience.
Skills & Attributes
Solid creative and technical design skills
Proficiency in design software (e.g. CAD)
Excellent attention to detail and garment construction knowledge
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to manage timelines and budgets effectively
