As part of the globally recognised Texas Research International (TRI) group, we combine the agility of a close-knit local team with the support and expertise of an international organisation. We are seeking an experienced Analytical Chemist to join our Burleigh Heads laboratory and play a pivotal role in supporting our Air Testing operations. Reporting to the Laboratory Director, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance and optimisation of our analytical testing capabilities, while also supporting laboratory quality systems, method development and technical leadership activities. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong analytical chemist who enjoys solving problems, improving systems and working in a practical laboratory environment. The Role You will be a key contributor to the technical success of the laboratory and will work closely with laboratory leadership to ensure high-quality scientific outcomes. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and analyse results from Gas Chromatography (GC) systems
- Support the management of technical and scientific laboratory activities
- Assist with instrument qualification, validation and performance verification activities
- Review and quality check customer testing data
- Develop, author and maintain laboratory SOPs and technical documentation
- Provide training, mentoring and technical direction to laboratory technicians
- Support investigations into non-conformances and special customer projects
- Conduct occasional on-site air testing activities at customer facilities
- Assist with general laboratory operations as required, including sample and equipment handling About You You are a technically capable chemist who combines robust analytical skills with a practical, hands-on approach. - To be successful, you will ideally possess:
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or similar with relevant industry experience
- Solid experience in analytical chemistry
- Demonstrated experience with Gas Chromatography (GC) instrumentation and applications
- Experience in laboratory quality systems and method validation
- Experience within an accredited laboratory environment will be highly regarded
- Experience building, configuring or optimising GC systems will be advantageous Additional Requirements
