We use advanced robotics, unmanned systems and remote sensors to help industries manage risk and compliance, inspect, monitor and manage critical environments and infrastructure safely and efficiently. We’re looking for a driven Geospatial Engineer to join our team, delivering high‑quality spatial data solutions that support environmental and industrial inspection services. Key Responsibilities
- Support UAV, ROV, and USV operations to ensure optimal data capture
- Conduct field calibrations and perform QA/QC checks (field and office)
- Capture and process spatial data including LiDAR, bathymetry, photogrammetry, and thermal imagery
- Produce high‑value outputs such as orthomosaics, point clouds, DEMs/DSMs, 3D models, and volumetric analysis
- Perform change detection, deformation, and terrain/vegetation analysis
- Integrate multi‑source datasets (UAV, sonar, GNSS, satellite, and terrestrial surveys)
- Prepare technical reports, maps, and client‑ready deliverables
- Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to improve data capture and workflows
- Represent the business in client interactions and industry forums as required About You
- Degree in Geospatial Science, GIS, Surveying, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Experience with geospatial data processing or UAV/ROV data (industry or academic)
- Proficiency in GIS tools such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar
- Understanding of LiDAR, photogrammetry, sonar, or bathymetry workflows (desirable)
- Experience with scripting (Python or R) is advantageous
- Strong interest in applying geospatial technologies within environmental and infrastructure projects Why work for SGS?
