Maintenance Officer (Darling Downs)

About the Role As the Advanced Maintenance Officer, you will be responsible for undertaking routine maintenance and grounds work to ensure the appearance and condition of the Aged Care Facility or Retirement Village buildings are well-maintained. You will communicate with customers to understand their needs and liaise with external contractors to provide specialised services. You will conduct regular inspection, follow health and safety protocols and ensure work meet trade and Australian standards. Responsibilities include:
- Undertakes general building maintenance, gardening and repairs tasks such as installing doors, shelves/cupboards, designing garden layouts, etc., and ensures work meet relevant trade and Australian standards.
- Maintains cleanliness, functionality and orderly presentation of gardens and common areas across Bolton Clarke Aged Care Facility or Retirement Village.
- Communicates with customers to ensure that maintenance and gardening services meet their expectations and addresses issues that could affect their well-being.
- Conducts regular inspections of the facility to identify and address maintenance needs, including plumbing, electrical, and general building upkeep. About You To be successful in this role, our preferred candidate will have:
- Moderate experience as a Maintenance Officer is preferred.
- Certificate III in Engineering/Parks and Gardening is prescribed.
- Strong knowledge of workplace safety and health principles is preferred.
- Proficient in Facilities Maintenance, Repair Techniques, Plant Operations, Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Standards and Maintenance Equipment Management skills.
- Excellent Communication, Analytical Thinking, Customer Experience and Planning and Prioritisation skills.
