Chef (Byron Bay)

Carmita Restaurant & Bar is seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team on a full-time basis. Carmita Restaurant & Bar is a vibrant mediterranean-inspired restaurant and cocktail bar located in the heart of Byron Bay, offering bold flavours, fresh local produce, share-style dining, and a lively atmosphere. Our menu combines modern mediterranean and middle eastern influences with creative presentation and high-quality seasonal ingredients. We are looking for a chef who enjoys working in a rapid-paced, energetic kitchen and has a genuine passion for delivering memorable dining experiences. Key duties and responsibilities:
- Preparing and cooking a range of mediterranean and middle eastern inspired dishes to a consistently high standard.
- Assisting in the development of seasonal menus and daily specials.
- Ensuring quality, presentation, and portion control standards are maintained during service.
- Working collaboratively with the kitchen team during high-volume services.
- Monitoring stock levels, minimising wastage, and assisting with kitchen ordering and stock rotation.
- Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen in compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Supervising and training of kitchen staff . Requirements:
- Full work rights in Australia
- At least 3 years of relevant cooking experience.
- Experience working in a busy restaurant environment with high service standards.
- Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen operations.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and as part of a professional team.
- Creativity, attention to detail, and passion for modern hospitality. Pay: $75,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year Benefits
