Chef Byron Bay

Carmita Restaurant & Bar is seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team on a full-time basis.

Carmita Restaurant & Bar is a vibrant mediterranean-inspired restaurant and cocktail bar located in the heart of Byron Bay, offering bold flavours, fresh local produce, share-style dining, and a lively atmosphere. Our menu combines contemporary mediterranean and middle eastern influences with creative presentation and high-quality seasonal ingredients.

We are looking for a chef who enjoys working in a rapid-paced, energetic kitchen and has a genuine passion for delivering memorable dining experiences.

Key duties and responsibilities: Preparing and cooking a range of mediterranean and middle eastern inspired dishes to a consistently high standard. Assisting in the development of seasonal menus and daily specials. Ensuring quality, presentation, and portion control standards are maintained during service. Working collaboratively with the kitchen team during high-volume services. Monitoring stock levels, minimising wastage, and assisting with kitchen ordering and stock rotation. Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen in compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations. Supervising and training of kitchen staff .

Requirements: Full work rights in Australia At least 3 years of relevant cooking experience. Experience working in a busy restaurant workplace with high service standards. Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen operations. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and as part of a professional team. Creativity, attention to detail, and passion for modern hospitality.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
